About Kansas Aviation

Our Mission:

To drive economic development and enhance critical services in Kansas through infrastructure improvement; and to be regarded as the state aviation expert; innovator and resource for the Kansas aviation community.

Who We Serve:

KDOT Aviation serves the Kansas aviation community, including airports, aviation groups, the FAA, the pilot community, and aviation education and research facilities.

Robert W. (Bob) Brock

Robert W. (Bob) Brock
Director of Aviation, Director of UAS

Bob Brock joined the Kansas Department of Transportation as the first State Director for Unmanned Aircraft Systems after a 22-year career in the Air Force. An instrument-rated commercial fixed-wing and helicopter instructor pilot, Bob started working with UAS in 2003, and later commanded the largest UAS Squadron in the Air Force. He is a native of Pittsburg, KS and alumnus of Pittsburg State and Texas Christian Universities. He likes cars, Thai food, and great coffee.

Greg Chenoweth

State Aviation Planner

Greg Chenoweth returned to his Kansas roots from Arizona when joining KDOT in January 2016, after serving as Airport Manager at Chandler Municipal Airport for about 20 years. His earlier positions as manager were in Hutchinson and Cape Girardeau, MO. He now manages the Kansas Airport Improvement Program (KAIP), and its $5 million fund for airport projects in equipment, development plans and maintenance. He also manages the state's 5010 Airport Safety Inspection program and as time permits, the KDOT Aviation Division's Airport Development Program. Greg holds a private pilot license.

Lindsey R. Dreiling
Deputy Director of Aviation and UAS

Lindsey Dreiling has spent over 15 years immersed in aviation. As Deputy Director, Lindsey drives strategies to grow and support aviation and UAS industries in Kansas. Lindsey sets the pace for aviation engagement as she serves as the President of the Kansas Commission on Aerospace Education (KCAE) and an FAA Safety Team (FAASTeam) Representative. She earned Bachelors' degrees in Professional Piloting and Aviation Technology Management; as well as, a Master's in Counseling and Student Development from Kansas State University. She holds a commercial fixed-wing pilot certificate with a certified flight instructor instrument (CFII) and a multi-engine instructor (MEI) ratings.

Halee Lindstrom
Manager, UAS Strategic Communications

Halee Lindstrom is a first generation Kansan. Her community and event organization experience can be demonstrated in the execution and success of the Kansas Export Forum, an event that united the Kansas Departments of Agriculture, Commerce and Transportation to identify needs gaps for small business exporters in the global supply chain. Halee is interested in growth for Kansas. UAS Strategic Communications, Policy, and Outreach- serves as a community and government affairs liaison for UAS education, partnerships, communication and policy to Kansas farmers and ranchers, local municipalities, and elected officials to raise awareness for the business and workforce opportunities in the UAS industry in Kansas.

Dennis O'Connor, Manager, Federal State Affairs

Manager, Federal & State Affairs

Dennis O'Connor oversees FAA grants used by the Aviation Division in system studies on behalf of Kansas' public-use airports for pavement maintenance, capital improvements and economic impact. A native of New York City, his 20–year background in aviation ranges from noise and environmental compliance at major commercial and general aviation airports to (civilian) loadmaster in air cargo. He has also been engaged as an airport manager, tour pilot and flight instructor.

Trever Linn, Manager, Outreach & Marketing

Trever Linn
Manager, Outreach & Marketing

Trever Linn currently oversees aviation stakeholder communication and engagement as the Marketing and Outreach Manager for the state of Kansas. He is a Commercial Pilot, Certified Flight Instructor - Instrument (CFII), sUAS Remote Pilot, and an active volunteer with the Wichita (FAASTeam) with five years of industry experience. Trever serves as Secretary for the Kansas Commission on Aerospace Education and holds Bachelors' in Molecular and Cellular Developmental Biology (MCDB) from the University of Colorado in addition to Aeronautical Technology from Kansas State University.
